BU vs. MIT on Wednesday night captured the effervescent nature of BUWCS and their strong abilities to dominate in virtually all aspects of the game. The girls came out strong, connecting between the midfield and the strikers, finding early opportunities leading up to their goal midway through the first half, when senior Shannon Anderson headed the ball home to give BU a 1-0 lead.

The remainder of the game was all BU: finding each other on the flanks, creating opportunities off the perfectly set through-balls, and being a constant threat to MIT’s goalkeeper. Unfortunately, MIT capitalized on their only chance of the game off a breakaway in the mid second half to tie the game 1-1. BU continued to challenge and impose their strength on MIT’s defense, but simply couldn’t find the golden opportunity to put them on top. It was a disappointing finish to the game for BUWCS, but encouraging to see how the girls have evolved from the beginning of the season into a strongly united and multitalented group.
